Wilkes-Barre, Pa. - The Ithaca wrestling team (11-4), ranked 21st nationally, won the last two bouts to post a 16-15 win at #19 Wilkes Friday.
Sophomores
Chad Winowich (Abington Heights/Clarks Summit, Pa.) and
Willie Horwath (Liberty/Bethlehem, Pa.) recorded decisions at 133 and 141, respectively to rally the Bombers.
Winowich posted a 5-1 victory and
Horwath was a 3-2 winner, with the decisive point coming via riding time.
Sophomores
John Paxos (Roxbury/Succasunna, N.J.) and
Joe Goetz (New Hyde Park/New Hyde Park) won by decision at 157 and heavyweight, respectively. Freshman
David Priest (Wall/Manasquan, N.J.) rounded out Ithaca’s winners, recording a 13-1 major decision at 174.
The Bombers wrap up their dual-meet season Wednesday, hosting fifth-ranked Cortland.
